Rioja Alavesa is a unique enclave, a landscape of vineyards in which since 2018 we have been seduced by this idyllic setting; under the watchful eye of Sierra de Cantabria, a silent mountain that with its wooded peaks and slopes has served as the setting for several novels by Pío Baroja.
Throughout 36.5 ha of centenary vineyard of the Tempranillo and Viura varieties, high quality wines are enshrined, such as Lozano Selección de Or origins and Montes de Leza, of accredited world recognition.
The plant develops maximum yield thanks to its terroir, poor clay-calcareous soil that forces the roots of the vine to cling hard, at an average annual temperature between 12º and 13º and a rainfall of 500 l./m2.
The reception of the grape, its typification and manual selection takes place in the soul of a staggered architectural structure, the work of Jimena Ruiz de Landa; unquestionable memory of the Sierra that protects us and of the sun shades. This landscape architecture, of which Lozano Rioja is a part, respects and integrates the elements of the Rioja Alavesa region in its designs.
