Coming from thirty-five microplots of goblet vines with head training and thumb pruning, planted between 1910 and 1989 in the municipalities of Leza, Samaniego, Navaridas and Laguardia and Ábalos. Average age of the vineyard: 53 years. Clay-calcareous soils. Average altitude: 570 m. Atlantic climate with Mediterranean influence.
Elaboration
Manual harvest. Destemmed grapes without crushing macerated in stainless steel tanks with temperature control and long fermentation. Malolactic fermentation partially in used barrels. Subsequent aging for 20 months in new French oak barrels -70%- and American oak -30%-.
Average production: 40,000 Kg./Ha. of 75cl.
